This series of Five Different Lifestyles helps you to identify your current level and shows you how to move up to the next level.  Each level is very honest and may appear harsh, but the goal is to energize you enough to want to move up to the next level.

Now we’re going to talk about the second of the five different lifestyle levels. You have just covered the Survival Stage and hopefully, won't be returning to that stage, or ever slip back to that stage. This second particular level we call Stagnation. That does not sound very complimentary, but basically what I'm saying is that you’re on a treadmill; not really getting anywhere; simply living from paycheck to paycheck, unable to really move forward or save any money. You are not able to progress properly in your career path. You’re just stagnated and it’s just getting very, very old. Another group of you could have already progressed into the higher levels, but due to the economy of 2009, you were forced back into Stagnation, or the treadmill lifestyle. So, what we’re going to do is take a few minutes to explain this particular level of lifestyle and show you ways in which you can move forward and upward to the next level.

The educational requirements for people at this level may only be a high school diploma. Some of you may have even completed a two-year associate's degree. Basically, you have had some basic skill training, established a pretty good work ethic, and have a pretty basic level of personal integrity, You seem to be moving along in life all right. You have an apartment or a modest home, a descent vehicle that you can depend on to get to and from work. With your current skill level you might be in lower management, perhaps a skilled tradesmen category, or you could even be in an office environment as a Team Leader.

Job samples in the various industries such as construction might be semi-skilled construction worker. You might have training for plumbing, or carpentry that you could bring to the table. In the fast food area you might be team leader or manager. In retail you could be a department manager. In health care you might even be in an entry level for the nursing field or perhaps a therapy assistant. In sales you could be selling automobiles, services or products, and in customer service you might move up to a manager or team leader. In the educational profession you could complete orientation to be a substitute teacher or even a teacher aide. You might qualify in the lower grade levels to do Computer Workshops. You could work as a computer maintenance hardware person or even do basic computer software.

Overall, you seem to be doing okay, but you're not really breaking through and progressing in your career path. You’re just not moving up as you really want to, and because of this 2009 economy you’re still really pressured. So the first thing that we’d like you to do is to get angry… get angry at yourself and where you are stuck. Enough to really drive yourself out of Stagnation and into a much better lifestyle for yourself.

Now, what do we do with anger? There are three responses that we can have with anger and two of them are not good. The first thing you can do when you get really angry is to explode all over the persons that you really love or some third party you don't even know.  But exploding in anger his destructive and really doesn't fix anything.  The second thing you can do with your anger is internalize it, hold it in and absorb it like a sponge. This is very, very dangerous for your health. Suppressing anger emotions could develop health issues such as obesity, heart disease, arthritis, and all kinds of emotional problems. So internalizing anger is definitely not a healthy way to take anger, and if you're non-confrontational that’s typically what you tend to do.

Third, and what we're suggesting with New Success Path is that you take this anger and channel the energy from the anger- you don’t channel the anger itself, but channel the energy from that anger, because anger produces energy at a very pure high-level form, and reflect on the anger. Why are you really angry? Are you angry because the economy is really bad and you’ve been laid off? Are you angry because the government is not doing enough for you? Are you angry because the President and the Congress are bad and all the bonuses are getting paid out? Are you angry with yourself because you really can't figure out what you want to do?

Reflect on why, and once you reflect on it, Release it. Just say, “Okay, that’s why I’m angry and now I’m releasing it.” Now, even though you’ve released the anger you haven’t released the energy generated by the anger. So the third thing you need to do is to Redirect that energy in a positive way. What we mean by that is use that energy to identify exactly the industry that you really want to excel in, where you really have your passion and desire.  Direct that energy to completing online courses or to further develop a level of skill that will assist you in moving up. Also, spend some of that energy to take a look at your cash flow engine. Decide that you're going to deliberately make sure that you earn more than you spend. Get that spending under control, get that debt under control to get the engine working to get rid of any consumer debt that you might have. That is going to relieve a lot of stress and diffuse the anger. So you need to use that energy in a positive direction. You’ll be surprised. All of a sudden with these added skills you get from online courses achieved with that extra energy that you're applying and working harder… you're the first one at work, the last one to leave, you’re taking on extra projects constructively using that energy where you channeled that anger.

The other advantage is that you avoid opportunities for depression. Of course depression leads to its own arena of health issues and negative behaviors. So that is the process you really need to work through and use the New Success Path.

Anchor yourself.
